2 Chronicles, 18

5. Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver [it] into the king's hand.

2 Chronicles 18 tells the story of King Jehoshaphat of Judah, who unites in an alliance with King Ahab de Israel to fight the Syrians. Before the battle, he appoints his prophets who give him a favorable answer, but Jehoshaphat asks a prophet of God to be consulted and Micaiah is brought to give his opinion. Micaiah prophesies that the battle will be a defeat to them and is arrested for it. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in 2 chronicles 18, in order of similarity:

1 Kings 22:14: "But Micaiah said, 'I swear to the Lord that what the Lord tells me, I will speak." This verse highlights Micaiah's courage to tell the truth, even if it results in punishment. He refuses to say what people want to hear and speaks only the truth that God reveals to him.

Proverbs 12:19: "The true lip is firm forever, but the lying language, only for a moment." This verse emphasizes the importance of true honesty and speech rather than lies that can be temporarily pleasant but end up harming.

Matthew 7:15-16: "Beware of false prophets. They come to you dressed in sheep, but inside are devouring wolves. Will you recognize them for their fruits. Is it possible to harvest grapes of thorns or weed figs?" This verse warns about the presence of false prophets, who can speak safely and appear to be good people, but who do not have the truth of God.

John 14:6: "Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except for me.'" This verse highlights the importance of following the truth that is found in Jesus Christ rather than relying on the lies and illusions that the world can offer.

Ephesians 6:14: "Be firm, wearing all the armor of God, so that they can be firm against the devil's pitfalls." This verse encourages Christians to dress with God's armor so that they can be firm and strong in the face of the devil's lies and temptations.
