1 Chronicles, 19

2. And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

1 Chronicles 19 tells the history of war between David and the Ammonites. Deuteronomy 20:4 - "For the Lord, your God, is what goes with you, to fight against your enemies to save you." This verse shows that David knew that God was with him in the battle against the Ammonites, and that gave him confidence to fight.

Psalm 23:4 - "Although I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I won't fear any harm, because you are with me: Your stick and your staff comfort me." This verse shows that David trusted God even when he faced danger, and that God guided and protected him.

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 - "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not militate according to the flesh, because the weapons of our militia are not carnal, but powerful in God, to destroy the fortresses." This verse shows that David trusted God and his spiritual weapons to fight the ammonites, not in his own skills or physical strength.
