Leviticus, 16

21. And putting both hands upon his head, let him confess all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their offences and sins: and praying that they may light on his head, he shall turn him out by a man ready for it, into the desert.

Leviticus chapter 16 deals with the atonement day ceremony, in which the high priest made a series of offerings and purifications to atone for the sins of the people of Israel. The selected verses are:

Exodus 30:10: "And once a year, Aaron will do atonement on the ends of the altar; with the blood of the sin of atonement sin, he will do atonement over him once a year for all your generations. Leviticus 16:34: "And this will be for you a perpetual status, to do atonement for the children of Israel of all their transgressions once a year." This verse reinforces the importance of the atonement day ceremony as an annual practice to atone for the sins of the people.
