Judith, 8

20. Let us humbly wait for his consolation, and the Lord our God will require our blood of the afflictions of our enemies, and he will humble all the nations that shall rise up against us, and bring them to disgrace.

Judite 8 describes how Judith convinced the elders of her city to allow her to leave the city gates to surrender to the Assyrians. Proverbs 16:32: "Better is the Longanic than the brave, and the one who rules his spirit than what a city takes." This verse emphasizes the importance of self -control, a quality that Judith demonstrated in carefully planning and executing his plan with patience and skill.
