6. Then, when the sons of Ammon realized that they had committed an injury against David, both Hanun and the rest of the people sent one thousand talents of silver, so that they might hire for themselves chariots and horsemen from Mesopotamia, and from Syrian Maacah, and from Zobah.

1 Chronicles 19 tells the history of war between David and the Ammonites. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 - "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not militate according to the flesh, because the weapons of our militia are not carnal, but powerful in God, to destroy the fortresses." This verse shows that David trusted God and his spiritual weapons to fight the ammonites, not in his own skills or physical strength.
