2 Timothy, 3

1. And know this: that in the last days perilous times will press near.

1. A ovo znaj: u posljednjim danima nastat æe teška vremena.

2. Men will be lovers of themselves, greedy, self-exalting, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,

2. Ljudi æe doista biti sebeljupci, srebroljupci, preuzetnici, oholice, hulitelji, roditeljima neposlušni, nezahvalnici, bezbožnici,

3. without affection, without peace, false accusers, unchaste, cruel, without kindness,

3. bešæutnici, nepomirljivci, klevetnici, neobuzdanici, goropadnici, neljubitelji dobra,

4. traitorous, reckless, self-important, loving pleasure more than God,

4. izdajice, brzopletnici, naduti, ljubitelji užitka više nego ljubitelji Boga.

5. even having the appearance of piety while rejecting its virtue. And so, avoid them.

5. Imaju oblièje pobožnosti, ali snage su se njezine odrekli. I njih se kloni!

6. For among these are ones who penetrate houses and lead away, like captives, foolish women burdened with sins, who are led away by means of various desires,

6. Od njih su doista oni što se uvlaèe u kuæe i zarobljuju ženice, natovarene grijesima, vodane najrazlièitijim strastima:

7. always learning, yet never achieving knowledge of the truth.

7. one uvijek uèe, a nikako ne mogu doæi do spoznaje istine.

8. And in the same manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so also will these resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobates from the faith.

8. Kao što se Janes i Jambres suprotstaviše Mojsiju, tako se i ovi, ljudi pokvarena uma, u vjeri neprokušani, suprotstavljaju istini.

9. But they will not advance beyond a certain point. For the folly of the latter shall be made manifest to all, just as that of the former.

9. Ali neæe više napredovati jer bezumlje æe ovih postati oèito, kako se to i onima dogodilo.

10. But you have fully comprehended my doctrine, instruction, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,

10. A ti si pošao za nmom u pouèavanju, u ponašanju, u naumu, u vjeri, u strpljivosti, u ljubavi, u postojanosti;

11. persecutions, afflictions; such things as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; how I endured persecutions, and how the Lord rescued me from everything.

11. u progonstvima, u patnjama koje su me zadesile u Antiohiji, u Ikoniju, u Listri. Kakva li sam progonstva podnio! I iz svih me izbavio Gospodin!

12. And all those who willingly live the piety in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

12. A i svi koji hoæe živjeti pobožno u Kristu Isusu, bit æe progonjeni.

13. But evil men and deceivers will advance in evil, erring and sending into error.

13. Zli pak ljudi i vraèari napredovat æe sve više u zlu - kao zavodnici i zavedeni.

14. Yet truly, you should remain in those things which you have learned and which have been entrusted to you. For you know from whom you have learned them.

14. Ti, naprotiv, ostani u onome u èemu si pouèen i èemu si vjeru dao, svjestan od koga si sve pouèen

15. And, from your infancy, you have known the Sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you toward salvation, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

15. i da od malena poznaješ Sveta pisma koja su vrsna uèiniti te mudrim tebi na spasenje po vjeri, vjeri u Kristu Isusu.

16. All Scripture, having been divinely inspired, is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in justice,

16. Sve Pismo, bogoduho, korisno je za pouèavanje, uvjeravanje, popravljanje, odgajanje u pravednosti,

17. so that the man of God may be perfect, having been trained for every good work.

17. da èovjek Božji bude vrstan, za svako dobro djelo podoban.
