Jeremiah 7 contains the word of the Lord directed at the inhabitants of Judah who gathered in the temple to worship God, but who were sinning and moving away from his ways. The chapter shows that worship of God must be accompanied by a just life and true devotion, not just an empty and hypocritical religious practice. Deuteronomy 12:5 - "But instead, seek the place that the Lord, your God, will choose from all your tribes to establish your name and dwell. It is there that you should go," this verse emphasizes The importance of worshiping God in the place He has chosen, not anywhere we choose on our own.
Matthew 7:21 - "Not everyone who says to me," Lord, Lord, "will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven." This verse points out that true worship of God involves obeying His will and living a just life.
Psalm 50:14-15-"Offer God sacrifices of gratitude and fulfill their vows to the Most High. And invoke me on the day of anguish; I will deliver them, and you will honor me." This psalm emphasizes that true worship of God includes gratitude and fulfillment of promises, as well as trusting God for salvation.
Isaiah 1:13-14-"Stop bringing useless offers! Your incense is disgusting to me! New Moon, Saturdays and calls, I cannot stand your malaise. Your New Moon Parties and your fixed parties I hate them. They have become a burden to me; I'm tired of carrying it. " This verse shows that worship of God without repentance and life change is useless and disgusting to Him.
2 Corinthians 6:16-18 - "What agreement can there be between the temple of God and the idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said, 'I will dwell with them and walk among them; They will be my people. 'Therefore, leave their midst and separate, say the Lord. Do not touch impure things, and I will receive them. " This verse highlights the importance of being saints and separating from sin so that God will dwell in us.
