12. And the fourth Angel sounded the trumpet. And a third part of the sun, and a third part of the moon, and a third part of the stars were struck, in such a way that a third part of them was obscured. And a third part of the day did not shine, and similarly the night.
Revelation 8 describes the opening of the seventh seal and the beginning of the seven trumpets, which are divine judgments that bring destruction to the earth. Following are five Bible verses that relate to the topics addressed in Revelation 8:
Jeremiah 25:30-31: "I will therefore announce at high voices to all the peoples of the world:" The Lord comes to judge! He will judge all nations of the earth with justice, according to what they deserve. The Lord will send the sword, hunger, and plague against them until they have been exterminated from the face of the earth. "This verse speaks of God's judgment on all nations, which is similar to the judgments described in Revelation 8.
Isaiah 24:6-7: "Therefore, a curse devours the earth; its inhabitants suffer the consequences of their sins. Joel 2:1-2: "Touch the trumpet in Zion, give the alarm in my holy mountain. They shake with fear, all the inhabitants of the earth, because the day of the Lord is coming! It is near, it is a day of darkness and of Darkness, a day of clouds and darkness, as there has never been before there will be no later, in generations and generations. " This verse also talks about using the trumpet as a warning sign for God's judgment, which is a theme in Revelation 8.
Amos 5:18-20: "Woe to those who desire the day of the Lord! What benefit will be for you on that day? It will be a day of darkness, not of light.
