Ezekiel 14 talks about divine rebuke to the idolatrous leaders of Israel who sought guidance from the prophet while still kept their idols in their hearts. Jeremiah 7:9-10: "You make theft, homicides, adultery and false oaths, incense in incense to Baal, and walk after other gods you have never known. And then you come, and introduce you to me, in this house, which is called By my name, and say, were we released, to make all these abominations? " This verse shows that many people in Israel were practicing sinful acts and still continued to seek God in their temple.
Isaiah 1:15: "When you extend your hands, I will hide from you my eyes; and though you will multiply your prayers, I will not hear them, because your hands are full of blood." This verse points out that God does not hear the prayers of those who commit serious sins.

Proverbs 1:28-29: "Then they will call me, but I will not answer; they will seek me, but they will not find me. For they bored science and did not prefer the fear of the Lord." This verse shows that those who despise the wisdom and fear of the Lord will not have their prayers heard.
