1 Maccabees, 9

37. After these events, it was reported to Jonathan and his brother Simon that the sons of Jambri were having a great marriage celebration, and that they would be leading the bride, a daughter of one of the great leaders of Canaan, out of Medeba with great fanfare.

This verse addresses the theme of persecution, which is one of the main questions in chapter 9 of 1 Maccabees, where Baquids pursues Judas Macabeu and his men.

2 Chronicles 20:15: "He said unto him, Listen to me, all of Judah and Jerusalem, and you, O Jehoshaphat! Psalm 44:6: "I don't trust my bow, nor can my sword save me." This verse deals with the theme of confidence in weapons and physical strength. In 1 Maccabees 9, Judas Macabeu and his men are overcome by the soldiers of baquids, but trust God to help them overcome the battle.

" This verse deals with the theme of Divine Protection, which is an important element in 1 Maccabees 9. Both sides trust God to protect them in battle.
