The seventh chapter of 1 Maccabees reports the battle between the armies of Judas Macabeus and the Antiochus King. During the fight, many Jews die and their bodies are dishonored by enemy soldiers. In the end, Judas comes out victorious and recovers the temple of Jerusalem. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in 1 Maccabees 7.
2 Chronicles 13:18: "Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they trusted the God of their parents." This verse talks about the victory of King Abias of Judah about King Jeroboam of Israel, who trusted his own armies instead of trusting God. Psalm 144:1: "Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands to war and my fingers to battle." This verse talks about the preparation for war and battle. Judas Macabeu and his followers were well prepared for the fight in 1 Maccabees 7, and God helped them win the battle.
