Judges, 20

32. Therefore the Benjaminites thought, "We are defeating them as before"; not realizing that disaster was about to overtake them. The Israelites, however, had planned the flight so as to draw them away from the city onto the highways. They were drawn away from the city onto the highways, of which the one led to Bethel, the other to Gibeon.

Judges chapter 20 deals with the conflict between the tribes of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin, who had protected a group of men who committed a terrible crime against a woman. The tribes of Israel wanted Benjamin to deliver the culprits, but they refused, leading to a civil war. Here are five verses related to the topics addressed in judges 20:

Deuteronomy 13:12-14: "If, listening to someone from your cities, that the Lord your God has given you to dwell in them, who says: Men, sons of Belial, came out of the middle of you, and pushed the inhabitants away from his city , saying, Let us and serve other gods you do not know; then you will inquire, and you will investigate, and you will interrogate well; and behold, it is certain that such an abomination was made in the middle of you "this verse talks about how to deal with those who commit Severe sins and push people away from God.

Proverbs 11:14: "Where there is no advice, the plans dispersed, but there are many counselors they are established." This verse emphasizes the importance of seeking advice from others from important issues.

Psalm 27:1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom will I be afraid of? Is the Lord the strength of my life; whose I will fear me?" This psalm talks about trust in God in times of fear and uncertainty.

Proverbs 16:18: "Superb precedes ruin, and the haughtiness of the Spirit precedes the fall." This verse warns of the dangers of arrogance and pride.

Isaiah 1:18: "Come then, and argue me, says the Lord, Though your sins are like the scarlet, they will become white like snow; even if they are red as the Carmesim, they will become as the white wool. " This verse talks about the forgiveness God offers to sinners who repent and turn to Him.
