Esther, 8

11. In these letters the king authorized the Jews in each and every city to group together and defend their lives, and to kill, destroy, wipe out, along with their wives and children, every armed group of any nation or province which should attack them, and to seize their goods as spoil

Esther Chapter 8 deals with the solution found by Esther and Mordecau to the problem of the death sentence that had been decreed against the Jews. After Haman was hanged, the king issued a new decree that allowed the Jews to defend himself from his aggressors. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not fear, because I am with you; do not haunt yourself, because I am your God; I strengthen you, and help you, and I support you with my faithful right hand." This verse shows the importance of trust in God, which can help your faithful to face any situation.

Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and fortress, well present help in anguish." This verse also emphasizes the importance of trust in God in difficult times.

Proverbs 21:1: "As waters of waters is the heart of the king in the hand of the Lord; this, according to his will, include him." This verse indicates that although kings have power, God is the one who controls their hearts and decisions.

1 Peter 5:7: "By casting upon him all your anxiety, because he takes care of you." This verse is a reminder that we can give our concerns to God, trusting that He will take care of us.

Philippians 4:6: "You are not restless for anything; before, your petitions are all known before God, prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving." This verse encourages prayer as a means of expressing our needs and concerns to God, making sure that He hears and responds to our prayer.
