2 Samuel, 19

8. Then the king arose, and took his seat in the gate. And the people were all told, "Behold, the king is sitting in the gate"; and all the people came before the king. Now Israel had fled every man to his own home.

Verses related to 2 Samuel, 19:

2 Samuel 19 describes David's restoration as king of Israel after Absalom's death. The chapter begins with David's pain and mourning for his son's death and then presents David's meeting with his followers and Israeli leaders. Following are five verses related to the topics addressed in 2 Samuel 19:

Psalm 30:5: "For your wrath lasts only a moment; in your favor is life. Crying can last a night, but joy comes in the morning." This psalm expresses David's confidence in the restoration of joy and the renewal of life after a period of sadness and pain.

Psalm 51:12: "Return the joy of your salvation, and sustain me with a voluntary spirit." David asks God to restore him and renew him in his spirit after his sin with Bathsheba and the death of Uriah.

Psalm 85:6: "Thou shalt not restore you, O God, our life? Shall not you revive your people?" David prays to God to restore the life of Israel and revive his people after the crisis caused by the rebellion of Absalom.

Psalm 103:8: "The Lord is merciful and compassionate, patient and abundant in love." This psalm expresses the goodness and mercy of God, who forgives and restores those who turn to him.

Psalm 126:5: "Those who sow in tears will go out with joy." This psalm expresses the hope that God restores the joy and harvest of those who have gone through a period of sadness and pain.
