Chapter 6 of 1 chronicles presents the genealogy of the Levites, including the descendants of Aaron, the first high priest. The names of leaders of Levitic families and the distribution of the cities of refuge are mentioned. Following are five verses related to the topics addressed in 1 Chronicles 6:
Exodus 6:16-20: "These are the names of Levi's children, according to their generations: Gérson, Coate and Merari. And the years of Levi's life were one hundred and thirty-seven years. Gérson's children: Libni and Simei, according to his families. And the children of Coate: Arão, Izar, Hebrom and Uziel. And the years of Coate's life were one hundred and thirty -three years.
