Matthieu, 24

1. Comme Jésus, sorti du temples'en allait, ses disciples s'approchèrent pour lui faire remarquer les constructionsdu temple.

1. Jesus left the temple area and was going away, when his disciples approached him to point out the temple buildings.

2. Prenant la parole, il leur dit: " Vous voyez tout cela, n'est-ce pas? Je vous le dis en vérité, iln'y sera pas laissé pierre sur pierre qui ne soit renversée.

2. He said to them in reply, "You see all these things, do you not? Amen, I say to you, there will not be left here a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down."

3. Lorsqu'il se fut assis sur la montagnedes Oliviers, ses disciples s'approchèrent de lui, à part, et dirent: " Dites-nous quand ces choses arriveront, et quel sera le signe de votre avènementet de la fin du monde? "

3. As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately and said, "Tell us, when will this happen, and what sign will there be of your coming, and of the end of the age?"

4. Jésus leur répondit: " Prenez garde que nul ne vous induise en erreur.

4. Jesus said to them in reply, "See that no one deceives you.

5. Car beaucoup viendront sous monnom, disant : " C'est moi qui suis le Christ, et ils en induiront un grand nombreen erreur.

5. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Messiah,' and they will deceive many.

6. Vous aurez à entendre parlerde guerres et de bruits de guerre : voyez ! n'en soyez pas troublés, car ilfaut que tout arrive; mais ce n'est pas encore la fin.

6. You will hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end.

7. En effet on se dressera nationcontre nation, royaume contre royaume, et il y aura des pestes, des famines etdes tremblements de terre par endroits :

7. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place.

8. tout cela est le commencementdes douleurs.

8. All these are the beginning of the labor pains.

9. Alors on vous livrera àla torture et on vous fera mourir, et vous serez en haine à toutes les nations, àcause de mon nom. 10 Alors aussi beaucoup failliront;ils se trahiront les uns les autres et se haïront les uns les autres.

9. Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name.

10. And then many will be led into sin; they will betray and hate one another.

11. Et il s'élèveraplusieurs faux prophètes qui en induiront un grand nombre en erreur.

11. Many false prophets will arise and deceive many;

12. Et à cause des progrèscroissants de l'iniquité, la charité d'un grand nombre se refroidira.

12. and because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many will grow cold.

13. Mais qui persévérerajusqu'à la fin sera sauvé.

13. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

14. Et cet évangile du royaumesera proclamé dans le monde entier, en témoignage pour toutes lesnations; et alors viendra la fin.

14. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.

15. Quand donc vous verrez l'abominationde la désolation, dont a parlé le prophète Daniel, dresséeen un lieu saint, ? que celui qui lit comprenne ! ?

15. spoken of through Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

16. alors, que ceux (qui seront)dans la Judée s'enfuient dans les montagnes;

16. then those in Judea must flee to the mountains,

17. que celui (qui sera) sur la terrassene descende pas prendre ce qu'il y a dans sa maison;

17. a person on the housetop must not go down to get things out of his house,

18. et que celui (qui sera) dansles champs ne revienne pas en arrière pour prendre son manteau.

18. a person in the field must not return to get his cloak.

19. Malheur aux femmes qui serontenceintes et à celles qui allaiteront en ces jours-là ! 20 Priez pour que votre fuite n'arrivepas en hiver, ni un jour de sabbat;

19. Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days.

20.

20. Pray that your flight not be in winter or on the sabbath,

21. car il y aura alors une grandetribulation, telle qu'il n'y en a point eu depuis le commencement du monde jusqu'àmaintenant, et qu'il n'y en aura plus.

21. for at that time there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will be.

22. Et si ces jours n'avaient étéabrégés, nul vivant n'échapperait; mais, àcause des élus, ces jours serontabrégés.

22. And if those days had not been shortened, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect they will be shortened.

23. Alors, si quelqu'un vous dit :" Voici le Christ ici ! " ou " là ! " ne le croyez point.

23. If anyone says to you then, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it.

24. Car il s'élèverade faux Christs et de faux prophètes, et ils feront de grands miracles et des prodiges jusqu'àinduire en erreur, s'il se pouvait, les élus mêmes.

24. False messiahs and false prophets will arise, and they will perform signs and wonders so great as to deceive, if that were possible, even the elect.

25. Voilà que je vous l'aiprédit.

25. Behold, I have told it to you beforehand.

26. Si donc on vous dit : " Voiciqu'il est dans le désert ! " ne partez point; " Voici qu'il est dans le cellier ! ", nele croyez point.

26. So if they say to you, 'He is in the desert,' do not go out there; if they say, 'He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it.

27. Car, comme l'éclair partde l'orient et apparaît jusqu'à l'occident, ainsi sera l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.

27. For just as lightning comes from the east and is seen as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

28. Où que soit le cadavre,là se rassembleront les aigles.

28. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

29. Aussitôt après latribulation de ces jours, le soleil s'obscurcira, la lune ne donnera pas sa clarté, lesastres tomberont du ciel, et les puissances des cieux seront ébranlés.

29. "Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

30. Alors apparaîtra dans leciel le signe du Fils de l'homme, et alors toutes les tribus de la terre se lamenteront,et elles verront le Fils de l'homme venant sur les nuées du ciel avec grandepuissance et gloire.

30. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31. Et il enverra ses anges avecla trompette retentissante, et ils rassembleront ses élus des quatre vents,depuis une extrémité des cieux jusqu'à l'autre.

31. And he will send out his angels with a trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32. Du figuier apprenez cette comparaison: Dès que sa ramure devient tendre et que ses feuilles poussent, voussavez que l'été est proche.

32. "Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near.

33. Ainsi, lorsque vous verrez toutesces choses, sachez que (l'événement) est proche, aux portes.

33. In the same way, when you see all these things, know that he is near, at the gates.

34. Je vous le dis en vérité,cette génération ne passera point que toutes ces choses ne soient arrivées.

34. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.

35. Le ciel et la terre passeront,mais mes paroles ne passeront point.

35. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

36. Quand à ce jour et àl'heure, nul ne les connaît, pas même les anges des cieux, mais le Père seul.

36. but the Father alone.

37. Tels furent les jours de Noé,tel sera l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.

37. For as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

38. Car de même que dans lesjours qui précédèrent le déluge, on mangeaitet on buvait, on épousait et onétait épousé, jusqu'au jour où Noé entradans l'arche,

38. In (those) days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark.

39. et qu'ils ne surent rien, jusqu'àla venue du déluge qui les emporta tous, ainsi sera aussi l'avènement duFils de l'homme.

39. They did not know until the flood came and carried them all away. So will it be (also) at the coming of the Son of Man.

40. Alors, de deux (hommes) qui serontdans un champ, l'un sera pris, l'autre laissé;

40. Two men will be out in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left.

41. de deux femmes qui seront àmoudre à la meule, l'une sera prise, l'autre laissée.

41. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left.

42. Veillez donc, puisque vous nesavez pas quel jour votre Seigneur doit venir.

42. Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.

43. Sachez-le bien, si le maîtrede maison savait à quelle veille le voleur doit venir, il veillerait et ne laisserait paspercer sa maison.

43. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into.

44. Tenez-vous donc prêts,vous aussi, car c'est à l'heure que vous ne pensez pas que le Fils de l'homme viendra.

44. So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.

45. Quelqu'un donc est-il le serviteurfidèle et prudent que le maître a établi sur les gens de sa maison pour leur donnerla nourriture au temps (voulu),

45. "Who, then, is the faithful and prudent servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household to distribute to them their food at the proper time?

46. heureux ce serviteur que sonmaître, à son arrivée, trouvera agissant ainsi !

46. Blessed is that servant whom his master on his arrival finds doing so.

47. En vérité, je vousle dis, il l'établira sur tous ses biens.

47. Amen, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property.

48. Mais si c'est un méchantserviteur qui se dise en lui-même : " Mon maître tarde, "

48. But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master is long delayed,'

49. et qu'il se mette à battreses compagnons de service, qu'il mange et boive avec les ivrognes,

49. and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with drunkards,

50. le maître de ce serviteurviendra au jour où il ne s'y attend pas, et à l'heure qu'il ne sait pas,

50. the servant's master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour

51. et il le fendra en deux, et luiassignera pour lot celui des hypocrites : là il y aura les pleurs et le grincementdes dents.

51. and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.
