Ezéchiel, 12

1. La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

1. Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

2. Fils de l'homme, tu habites au milieu d'une maison de rebelles, qui ont des yeux pour voir et qui ne voient point, qui ont des oreilles pour entendre et n'entendent point; car ils sont une mai-son de rebelles.

2. Son of man, you live in the midst of a rebellious house; they have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.

3. Et toi, fils de l'homme, fais-toi un bagage d'émigrant, et émigre de jour, à leurs yeux; émigre, à leurs yeux, du lieu où tu es dans un autre lieu peut-être verront-ils qu'ils sont une maison de rebelles.

3. Now, son of man, during the day while they are looking on, prepare your baggage as though for exile, and again while they are looking on, migrate from where you live to another place; perhaps they will see that they are a rebellious house.

4. Sors ton bagage, comme un bagage d'émigrant, de jour, à leurs yeux; et toi, pars le soir, à leurs yeux, comme on part pour émigrer.

4. You shall bring out your baggage like an exile in the daytime while they are looking on; in the evening, again while they are looking on, you shall go out like one of those driven into exile;

5. A leurs yeux, creuse un trou dans la muraille et sors par là ton bagage.

5. while they look on, dig a hole in the wall and pass through it;

6. A leurs yeux, mets-le sur ton épaule, emporte-le dans l'obscurité; voile-toi le visage, en sorte que tu ne voies pas la terre; car je t'ai établi comme un signe pour la maison d'Israël."

6. while they look on, shoulder the burden and set out in the darkness; cover your face that you may not see the land, for I have made you a sign for the house of Israel.

7. Je fis ainsi, selon que j'en avais reçu l'ordre; je sortis de jour mon bagage, comme un bagage d'émigrant; le soir, je perçai de ma main un trou dans la mu-raille; et je fis sortir le bagage dans l'obs-curité, je le portai sur mes épaules, à leurs yeux.

7. I did as I was told. During the day I brought out my baggage as though it were that of an exile, and at evening I dug a hole through the wall with my hand and, while they looked on, set out in the darkness, shouldering my burden.

8. Le matin, la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

8. Then, in the morning, the word of the LORD came to me:

9. "Fils de l'homme, la maison d'Israël, la maison de rebelles, ne t'a-t-elle pas dit: Que fais--tu?

9. Son of man, did not the house of Israel, that rebellious house, ask you what you were doing?

10. Dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Cet oracle est pour le prince qui est à Jérusalem, et pour toute la maison d'Israël qui se trouve dans cette ville.

10. Tell them: Thus says the Lord GOD: This oracle concerns Jerusalem and the whole house of Israel within it.

11. Dis: Je suis pour vous un emblème: comme j'ai fait, ainsi il leur sera fait, ils iront en exil, en captivité.

11. I am a sign for you: as I have done, so shall it be done to them; as captives they shall go into exile.

12. Le prince qui est au milieu d'eux mettra son bagage sur son épaule dans l'obscurité et partira; on creusera un trou dans la muraille pour le faire sortir; il se voilera le visage, en sorte qu'il ne voie pas de ses yeux la terre.

12. The prince who is among them shall shoulder his burden and set out in darkness, going through a hole that he has dug in the wall, and covering his face lest he be seen by anyone.

13. J'étendrai mon filet sur lui, et il sera pris dans mes rêts; je l'emmènerai à Babylone, au pays des Chaldéens; mais il ne le verra point, et là il mourra.

13. But I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon, into the land of the Chaldeans--but he shall not see it--and there he shall die.

14. Tous ceux qui l'entourent, ses auxiliaires et tous ses bataillons, je les disperserai à tout vent, et je les poursuivrai l'épée nue.

14. All his retinue, his aides, and his troops I will scatter in every direction, and pursue them with the sword.

15. Et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh, quand je les aurai répandus parmi les nations; et dispersés dans les pays.

15. Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them over foreign lands.

16. Et je laisserai d'entre eux un petit nombre d'hommes qui échapperont à l'épée, à la famine et à la peste, pour qu'ils racontent leurs abominations parmi les nations où ils iront; et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh."

16. Yet I will leave a few of them to escape the sword, famine and pestilence, so that they may tell of all their abominations among the nations to which they will come; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.

17. La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

17. Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

18. "Fils de l'homme, tu mangeras ton pain dans l'agitation; et tu boiras ton eau dans l'inquiétude et l'angoisse.

18. Son of man, eat your bread trembling, and drink your water shaking with anxiety.

19. Et tu diras au peuple du pays: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh pour les habitants de Jérusalem, pour la terre d'Israël: Ils mangeront leur pain dans l'angoisse, et ils boiront leur eau dans la désolation, parce que le pays sera dépeuplé de tout ce qu'il contient, à cause de la violence de tous ceux qui l'habitent.

19. Then say to the people of the land: Thus says the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem (to the land of Israel): They shall eat their bread in anxiety and drink their water in horror, that their land may be emptied of the violence of all its inhabitants that now fills it.

20. Les villes qui sont habitées seront désertes, le pays sera désolé, et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh."

20. Inhabited cities shall be in ruins, and the land shall be a waste; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.

21. La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

21. Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

22. "Fils de l'homme, qu'est-ce que ce dicton que vous répétez sur la terre d'Israël: Les jours se prolongent; toute vision reste sans effet?

22. Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel: "The days drag on, and no vision ever comes to anything"?

23. C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh je ferai cesser ce dicton, et on ne le prononcera plus en Israël. Dis-leur au contraire: Les jours sont proches ainsi que la réalisation de toute parole de vision.

23. Say to them therefore: Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to this proverb; they shall never quote it again in Israel. Rather, say to them: The days are at hand, and also the fulfillment of every vision.

24. Car il n'y aura plus de vision de mensonge, ni de divination trompeuse, au milieu de la maison d'Israël.

24. There shall no longer be any false visions or deceitful divinations within the house of Israel, because it is I, the LORD, who will speak.

25. Car moi, Yahweh, je parlerai; la parole que je dirai s'accomplira; elle ne sera plus différée. Oui, c'est en vos jours, maison rebelle, que je dirai la parole et que je l'exécuterai. ---oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. "

25. Whatever I speak is final, and it shall be done without further delay. In your days, rebellious house, whatever I speak I will bring about, says the Lord GOD.

26. La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

26. Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

27. "Fils de l'homme, voici que la maison d'Israël dit: La vision qu'il voit est pour des jours lointains, et c'est pour des temps éloignés qu'il prophétise.

27. Son of man, listen to the house of Israel saying, "The vision he sees is a long way off; he prophesies of the distant future!"

28. C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Aucune de mes paroles ne sera plus différée; la parole que je dis va s'accomplir, ---oracle du Seigneur Yahweh."

28. Say to them therefore: Thus says the Lord GOD: None of my words shall be delayed any longer; whatever I speak is final, and it shall be done, says the Lord GOD.
