6. Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
Job 39 deals with wild animals and the care God has for them, presenting examples of how they behave and reproduce. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in the chapter:
Psalm 104:21: "The lips of the prey and seek God for their livelihood." This verse shows the dependence of God's wild animals for their survival.
Proverbs 30:25: "Ants are not a strong people, yet in summer prepare their food." Like wild animals, ants have an instinct that leads them to prepare for the future.
Isaiah 11:6: "The wolf will dwell with the Lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat; the calf, the new lion and the barley will walk together, and a little one will guide them." This verse describes the peace that will exist in God's creation.
Matthew 6:26: "Observe the birds of heaven: do not sow, do not harvest, or gather in barns; however, your heavenly Father sustains them. Do you not have much more value than birds?" Jesus uses creation as an example to show God's concern to support all creatures.
Jeremiah 8:7: "Even the stork in heaven knows the time of its migration; the roll, the grou and the swallow carefully observe the time of its arrival. But my people do not know the judgment of the Lord." This verse compares the wisdom of God's creation with the lack of wisdom of the people of Israel in relation to their divine judgment.
