Haggai, 1

11. And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon [that] which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.

Chapter 1 of Haggai begins with a rebuke of God to the people of Judah for neglecting the reconstruction of the temple while working in their own homes and businesses. The prophet urges the people to turn their attention to the temple and the service of God, promising that God's blessing will come upon them. Below are five verses from other Bible books that relate to the topics covered in Ageu 1:

Malachi 3:10: "Bring the whole tithing to the temple warehouse, so that there may be food in my house. Put me to the test," says the Lord of the armies, "and see if I won't open the heaven floodgates and spill over You so many blessings that you will have nowhere to keep them. " This verse speaks of the importance of bringing tithing and offerings to the Temple of God, just as agu exhorts the people to rebuild the temple.

Ezra 6:14: "And the Jewish leaders continued to build and were successful, encouraged by the message of the prophets Agee and Zechariah, son of gone. They finished construction according to the order of the God of Israel and according to the decree of Ciro, Darius and Artaxerxes, kings of Persia. " This verse talks about the reconstruction of the Ageu temple is exhorting the people to perform.

This verse talks about the importance of placing the right priorities and focusing on the things that really matter, just as AGEU exhorts the people to prioritize the reconstruction of the temple and the service to God.
