The seventh chapter of 1 Maccabees reports the battle between the armies of Judas Macabeus and the Antiochus King. During the fight, many Jews die and their bodies are dishonored by enemy soldiers. In the end, Judas comes out victorious and recovers the temple of Jerusalem. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in 1 Maccabees 7.
2 Chronicles 13:18: "Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they trusted the God of their parents." This verse talks about the victory of King Abias of Judah about King Jeroboam of Israel, who trusted his own armies instead of trusting God. This victory is similar to that of Judas Macabeu in 1 Maccabees 7, where victory is granted to him because he entrusted to God.
Proverbs 24:16: "For seven times the righteous falls, and gets up; but the wicked stumble in calamity." This verse talks about the perseverance of the righteous in the face of adversity. Judas Macabeu and his followers are persistent in his struggle against enemies, even when they suffer significant losses.
2 Chronicles 32:7-8: "Strong and courageous thirst, do not fear or fear you before the king of Assyria, or before the whole multitude with Him; for there is more with us than with him. of flesh, but with us is the Lord, our God, to help us and fight our wars. " This verse is similar to 1 Maccabees 7, where Judas Macabeu encourages his soldiers to trust God instead of trusting his own skills.
Isaiah 40:29: "He gives strength to the tired, and multiplies strength to which he has no vigor." This verse talks about God's power to strengthen those who are weak and tired. During the battle in 1 Maccabees 7, the Jews were fighting a much larger army, but God gave them the strength to persevere.
Psalm 144:1: "Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands to war and my fingers to battle." This verse talks about the preparation for war and battle. Judas Macabeu and his followers were well prepared for the fight in 1 Maccabees 7, and God helped them win the battle.
