Genesis, 17

12. An infant of eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations: he that is born in the house, as well as the bought servant shall be circumcised, and whosoever is not of your stock:

Genesis 17 is a chapter that describes God making an alliance with Abram, changing his name to Abraham and instituting circumcision as a sign of this covenant. Hebrews 11:8: "By faith Abraham, when called, obeyed and went to a place that would later receive as an inheritance, although he did not know where he was going." 2 Timothy 2:13: "If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself." This verse highlights God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises, even when people are unfaithful, which is evidenced in Genesis 17 when God promises Abraham who will have descent and will give him the land of Canaan.

Galatians 3:29: "If you are from Christ, you are the descent of Abraham and heirs according to the promise." This verse highlights the importance of Abraham's spiritual descent, which is mentioned in Genesis 17 when God promises Abraham who will be the father of many nations.
