In Ezekiel 42, the prophet receives a view of a temple and his sanctuary. The chapter describes precise measures for the rooms and corridors of the temple, as well as for the area around it. Following are five verses related to the topics addressed in Ezekiel 42:
Exodus 26:33: "And thou shalt hang the veil under the brackets, and shall take the ark of testimony into the veil; and the veil will separate you between the sanctuary and the most holy place." This verse describes how the veil separated the sanctuary from the most holy place, and is relevant to the description of the temple in Ezekiel 42, which also has a separate area for the sanctuary and the most holy place.
1 Kings 6:5: "And against the wall of the house, which was inside, built floors around the walls of the house, around the temple and the sanctuary; and made cameras around." Hebrews 9:24: "For Christ has not entered a sanctuary made by hands, figure of the real, but in the same heaven, to now appear for us before the face of God;" This verse points to the difference between the physical temple described in Ezekiel 42 and the true heavenly sanctuary that Christ entered, and highlights the importance of the relationship of the physical temple to spiritual reality.
