Chapter 4 of Colossians contains Paul's final instructions on colosses and greetings to various people. Paul urges the Colossians to be wise in dealing with non-Christians, to take advantage of all the opportunities for testimony, and to pray that God will open doors to the preaching of the Gospel. He also sends personal greetings to various employees and asks the letter to be read in the church of Laodicea. Following five verses that relate to the topics covered in Colossians 4:
1 Thessalonians 5:17: "Pray without ceasing." This verse emphasizes the importance of prayer, a theme that is also addressed in Colossians 4.
2 Corinthians 5:20: "So that we are ambassadors of Christ, as if God prayed for us. This verse highlights the mission of witness and reconciliation that Christians have, a theme that is also emphasized in Colossians 4.
Ephesians 6:18-20: "Pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all prayer and supplication; keeping it in mind, be alert and persevere in prayer for all saints. Pray for me too, that when I speak, To be given the message so that it is fearlessly known the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an ambassador arrested in chains. Pray so that, remaining in it, I can speak without fear. 1 Peter 3:15: "Rather, Christ sanifies as Lord in your heart. Always be prepared to respond to anyone who asks you for the reason for the hope in you."
