1 Kings, 3

6. And Solomon said: Thou hast shewn great mercy to thy servant David my father, even at, he walked before thee in truth, and justice, and an upright heart with thee: and thou hast kept thy great mercy for him, and hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

Proverbs 3:13: "Blessed man who finds wisdom, and the man who acquires knowledge." This verse shows the importance of wisdom, which Solomon seeks in 1 kings 3.

Ecclesiastes 1:16-18: "I said with my heart, saying, I am rich, and I became much more than all who before me went to Jerusalem; and also persever with me my heart in the knowledge of wisdom with me and of knowledge. Proverbs 16:16: "The better it is to acquire wisdom than gold! And the more excellent, acquire prudence than silver!" This verse points out that wisdom is more valuable than material riches, a lesson that Solomon learns in 1 kings 3.
