Leviticus, 16

29. This shall be a lasting ordinance for you: on the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves and do no work - neither the native nor the stranger living among you -

Leviticus chapter 16 deals with the atonement day ceremony, in which the high priest made a series of offerings and purifications to atone for the sins of the people of Israel. The selected verses are:

Exodus 30:10: "And once a year, Aaron will do atonement on the ends of the altar; with the blood of the sin of atonement sin, he will do atonement over him once a year for all your generations.
