Acts, 17

18. Epicureans and Stoic philosophers debated with him, some of them asking, "What is this babbler trying to say?" Others commented, "He sounds like a promoter of foreign gods," because he was heard to speak of Jesus and 'the Resurrection.'

" Paul based his message on Thessalonica and Bereia in the Scriptures. He used the Scriptures to teach, rebuke, correct, and instruct those who heard their message in righteousness. This verse emphasizes the importance of Scripture in our Christian life and the preaching of the Gospel.
