Jesus teaches that what contaminates man is not what goes through his mouth, but what comes out of it, that is, the words and actions. He criticizes the Pharisees for following human traditions over God's commandments.

'"This verse relates to Jesus' criticism of the Pharisees for following human traditions rather than God's commandments.
