Luke, 13

7. Then he said to the cultivator of the vineyard: ‘Behold, for these three years I came seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I have found none. Therefore, cut it down. For why should it even occupy the land?’

Matthew 23:23: "Woe to you, scribes, and Pharisees, hypocrites! " In this verse Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for their hypocrisy and neglecting the most important precepts of the law. He emphasizes the need to do the most important things, such as justice, mercy, and faith.
