Genesis 42 narrates the story of Joseph's brothers going to Egypt to buy food during hunger that hit the land of Canaan. The sale of Joseph as a slave and his subsequent rise to power in Egypt was all part of God's plan to use him to save his family from hunger. Ephesians 4:32: "Before, thirst for one to the other benign, merciful, forgiving one another, as God has forgiven you in Christ." Joseph chooses to forgive his brothers for what they did to him, showing them the same mercy that God showed him.
