Ezekiel, 14

4. Because of this, speak to them, and you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord God: The man, the man of the house of Israel, who places his uncleanness in his heart, and who stations the scandal of his iniquities before his face, and who approaches a prophet, so as to inquire of me through him: I, the Lord, will respond to him in accord with the multitude of his uncleannesses,

Verses related to Ezekiel, 14:

Ezekiel 14 talks about divine rebuke to the idolatrous leaders of Israel who sought guidance from the prophet while still kept their idols in their hearts. God states that those who cling to their idols cannot expect to hear their voice. Here are five verses related to the topics covered in Ezekiel 14:

Jeremiah 7:9-10: "You make theft, homicides, adultery and false oaths, incense in incense to Baal, and walk after other gods you have never known. And then you come, and introduce you to me, in this house, which is called By my name, and say, were we released, to make all these abominations? " This verse shows that many people in Israel were practicing sinful acts and still continued to seek God in their temple.

Isaiah 1:15: "When you extend your hands, I will hide from you my eyes; and though you will multiply your prayers, I will not hear them, because your hands are full of blood." This verse points out that God does not hear the prayers of those who commit serious sins.

Jeremiah 11:11, "So thus the Lord says, Behold, I will bring upon them an evil that they cannot escape; and will cry to me, but I will not hear them." This verse emphasizes that God will not meet the prayers of those who seek their help if they continue to follow their own ways.

Psalm 66:18: "If I had contemplated vanity in the heart, the Lord would not have heard me." This verse points out that iniquity in one's heart can prevent God from hearing His prayers.

Proverbs 1:28-29: "Then they will call me, but I will not answer; they will seek me, but they will not find me. For they bored science and did not prefer the fear of the Lord." This verse shows that those who despise the wisdom and fear of the Lord will not have their prayers heard.
