39. the priest shall make an examination. If the blotches on the skin are white and already dying out, it is only tetter that has broken out on the skin, and the person therefore is clean.

Leviticus 12 deals with the purification of women after delivery. God gives Moses instructions on what women should do after giving birth to a boy or a girl, including the period of purification and the sacrifices that must be offered. Luke 2:22: "And when their days of purification were fulfilled, according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord." This verse talks about compliance with purification laws according to the law of Moses, something that is addressed in Leviticus 12.
