Exodus, 34

15. Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and [one] call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;

Chapter 34 of Exodus relates the renewal of the covenant of God with Moses and the children of Israel after the Golden Calf episode. Deuteronomy 7:9: "Know, therefore, that the Lord, His God, is God; He is the faithful God, who holds the covenant and goodness for a thousand generations of those who love and obey Him in their commandments."
