2 Chronicles, 7

20. Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it [to be] a proverb and a byword among all nations.

2 Chronicles 7 tells the conclusion of the construction of Solomon's temple and his dedication to God. 2 Chronicles 6:40: "Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your listeners attentive to the prayer that I do to you in this place." This verse refers to Solomon's prayer asking God to hear the prayers made in the temple. It is a memory of the importance of prayer in a place consecrated to God.

1 Kings 8:11: "The priests could not continue to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord." This verse describes the glory of God who filled the temple after its conclusion, showing the importance of God's presence in that place.

Psalm 122:1: "I rejoiced when they said, 'Let's go to the house of the Lord.'" This verse highlights the joy of going to the temple and worshiping the Lord in community.
