2 Kings, 8

29. And he went back to be healed, in Jezrahel: because the Syrians had wounded him in Ramoth when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ochozias the son of Joram king of Juda, went down to visit Joram the son of Achab in Jezrahel, because he was sick there.

Chapter 8 of 2 Kings tells the story of Hazael, a man who would eventually become king of Syria, and his interaction with the prophet Elisha and King Jehora of Israel. Hazael visits Elisha disguised and asks about the health of King Jeorão, while in fact he was interested in knowing if he would be able to become king. Later, Elisha sends one of his disciples to anoint Hazael as king of Syria, but also prophesies that he will cause much destruction. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in 2 Kings 8:

Isaiah 7:16: "For before the boy knows how to say 'daddy' or 'mom', the power of apricot and the spoil of Samaria will be taken by the king of Assyria." This verse talks about the fall of apricot, which is mentioned in 2 Kings 8:7.

2 Kings 9:14: "Then Jehu, son of Jehoshaphat and grandson of Ninsi, conspired against Jorno." This verse begins the story of Jehu, which later becomes king of Israel. The story of Jehu is important because he is chosen by God to punish Ahab's house for his idolatry and evil, a recurring theme in 2 kings.

Isaiah 7:8: "For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Effect." This verse also talks about the fall of Damascus and the defeat of Syria.

Hosea 1:4: "Then the Lord said to Hosea," Give him the name of Jezreel, because soon I will punish the dynasty of Jehu by the massacre in Jezreel, and end the kingdom of Israel. "This verse talks about Punishment that God plans for the house of Jehu, which is mentioned in 2 Kings 9:7.

2 Kings 10:32: "In those days, the Lord began to reduce the territory of Israel. Hazael defeated the Israelites throughout the east of Jordan." This verse talks about Hazael's actions, which is presented in 2 Kings 8 as a future king of Syria and that causes destruction in Israel, fulfilling Elisha's prophecy.
