Ezekiel, 27

16. The Syrian was your merchant. Because of the multitude of your works, they offered jewels, and purple, and patterned cloth, and fine linen, and silk, and other valuables in your market.

Ezekiel 27 describes the city of Tire and its greatness, but also predicts its fall. The chapter mentions the wealth and trade of the city, but highlights arrogance and confidence in its own strength, rather than recognizing God as sovereign. Here are five verses related to the topics covered in Ezekiel 27:

Isaiah 23:8 - "Who decreed this about Tire, who distributed crowns whose traders were princes and whose traders were the noblest on earth?" This verse describes the wealth and position of shooting as an important shopping center.

Proverbs 16:18 - "arrogance precedes destruction; pride precedes the fall." This verse highlights the central shot problem, which has become arrogant and confident in his own strength rather than recognizing God as a sovereign.

Jeremiah 25:22 - "All the cities of the kings of Tire, all the cities of the Kings of Sidon and the cities of the coast beyond the sea." This verse mentions Tire as one of the cities of the coast, along with Sidon, which was also known for his trade.

Revelation 18:11-13 - "Earth traders cry and regret it, because no one else buys their goods: gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; thin linen, purple, silk and scarlet fabrics; all kind of wood Odoriferous, all precious ivory and wood objects, bronze, iron and marble. " This verse relates to the fall of shooting, when the trade that brought wealth to the city ended and no one else bought its goods.

Ezekiel 28:2 - "Son of man, say to the prince of shooting, Thus saith the sovereign, the Lord, In the pride of your heart you said, 'I am a God; I dwell in a throne of gods, in the heart of the seas." But you are a man, not a God; no matter how much he is equal to a God. " This verse is an example of the arrogance of shooting and how the city considered itself superior to others, even the gods. Ezekiel's prophecy 27 warns about the disastrous consequences of this kind of thought.
