1. Este é o livro da história da família de Adão. Quando Deus criou o homem, ele o fez à imagem de Deus.

1. This is the book of the generation of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him to the likeness of God.

2. Criou-os homem e mulher, e os abençoou, e deu-lhes o nome de homem no dia em que os criou.

2. He created them male and female; and blessed them: and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

3. Adão viveu cento e trinta anos, e gerou um filho à sua semelhança, à sua imagem, e deu-lhe o nome de Set.

3. And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot a son to his own image and likeness, and called his name Seth.

4. Depois de haver gerado Set, Adão viveu oitocentos anos e gerou filhos e filhas.

4. And the days of Adam, after he begot Seth, were eight hundred years: and he begot sons and daughters.

5. Todo o tempo que Adão viveu foi de novecentos e trinta anos. E depois disso morreu.

5. And all the time that Adam lived came to nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.

6. Set viveu cento e cinco anos, e depois gerou Enós.

6. Seth also lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enos.

7. E depois do nascimento de Enós, viveu ain­da oitocentos e sete anos e gerou filhos e filhas.

7. And Seth lived after he begot Enos, eight hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters.

8. A duração total da vida de Set foi de novecentos e doze anos; e depois disso morreu.

8. And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died.

9. Enós viveu noventa anos, e depois gerou Cainã.

9. And Enos lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.

10. E depois do nascimento de Cainã, Enós viveu ainda oitocentos e quinze anos, e gerou filhos e filhas.

10. After whose birth he lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and begot sons and daughters.

11. E o tempo da vida de Enós foi de novecentos e cinco anos; e morreu.

11. And the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years, and he died.

12. Cainã viveu setenta anos, e depois gerou Malaleel.

12. And Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Malaleel.

13. Após o nascimento de Malaleel, Cainã viveu ainda oitocentos e quarenta anos, e gerou filhos e filhas.

13. And Cainan lived after he begot Malaleel, eight hundred forty years, and begot sons and daughters.

14. Todo o tempo da vida de Cainã foi de novecentos e dez anos; e morreu.

14. And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years, and he died.

15. Malaleel viveu sessenta e cinco anos, e depois gerou Jared.

15. And Malaleel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.

16. Após o nascimento de Jared, Malaleel viveu ainda oitocentos e trinta anos, e gerou filhos e filhas.

16. And Malaleel lived after he begot Jared, eight hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.

17. Todo o tempo da vida de Malaleel foi de oitocentos e noventa e cinco anos; e morreu.

17. And all the days of Malaleel were eight hundred and ninety-five years, and he died.

18. Jared viveu cento e sessenta e dois anos e gerou Henoc.

18. And Jared lived a hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Henoch.

19. Após o nascimento de Henoc, Jared viveu ainda oitocentos anos e gerou filhos e filhas.

19. And Jared lived after he begot Henoch, eight hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

20. Todo o tempo da vida de Jared foi de novecentos e sessenta e dois anos; e morreu.

20. And all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years, and he died.

21. Henoc viveu sessenta e cinco anos e gerou Matusalém.

21. And Henoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Mathusala.

22. Após o nascimento de Matusalém, Henoc andou com Deus durante trezentos anos e gerou filhos e filhas.

22. And Henoch walked with God: and lived after he begot Mathusala, three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

23. A duração total da vida de Henoc foi de trezentos e sessenta e cinco anos.

23. And all the days of Henoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.

24. Henoc andou com Deus e desapareceu, porque Deus o levou.*

24. And he walked with God, and was seen no more: because God took him.

25. Matusalém viveu cento e oitenta e sete anos, e gerou Lamec.

25. And Mathusala lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.

26. Após o nascimento de Lamec, Matusalém viveu ainda setecentos e oitenta e dois anos, e gerou filhos e filhas.

26. And Mathusala lived after he begot Lamech, seven hundred and eighty-two years, and begot sons and daughters.

27. A duração total da vida de Matusalém foi de novecentos e sessenta e nove anos; e morreu.

27. And all the days of Mathusala were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.

28. Lamec viveu cento e oitenta e dois anos, e gerou um filho,

28. And Lamech lived a hundred and eighty-two years, and begot a son.

29. a quem deu o nome de Noé, dizendo: “Este nos trará, em nossas fadigas e no duro labor de nossas mãos, um alívio tirado da terra mesma que o Senhor amaldiçoou”.*

29. And he called his name Noe, saying: This same shall comfort us from the works and labours of our hands on the earth which the Lord hath cursed.

30. Após o nascimento de Noé, Lamec viveu ainda quinhentos e noventa e cinco anos, e gerou filhos e filhas.

30. And Lamech lived after he begot Noe, five hundred and ninety-five years, and he begot sons and daughters.

31. A duração total da vida de Lamec foi de setecentos e setenta e sete anos; e morreu.

31. And all the days of Lamech came to seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died. And Noe, when he was five hundred years old, begot Sem, Cham, and Japheth.

32. Com a idade de quinhentos anos, Noé gerou Sem, Cam e Jafé.
