2 Maccabees, 6

8. Then a decree went out to the neighboring cities of the Gentiles, suggested by the Ptolemeans, that they too should act in a similar manner against the Jews, to oblige them to sacrifice,

2 Maccabees 6:31: "After these words, he surrendered to death with all his soul, leaving in his martyrdom a model of courage and awaiting the Lord the reconciliation with his brothers." This verse emphasizes the importance of courage and faith in difficult times and trust in God even in the face of death.
