Judges, 6

13. And Gideon said to him, "Pray, sir, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this befallen us? And where are all his wonderful deeds which our fathers recounted to us, saying, `Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?' But now the LORD has cast us off, and given us into the hand of Mid'ian."

Judges 6 tells the story of Gideon, a young man who was called by God to lead the Israelites in the fight against the Midianites. 2 Corinthians 12:9: "But he said to me, 'My grace is enough for you, for my power is perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will glory even more happily in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ rests on me. " This verse speaks of how God uses human weaknesses to demonstrate His power. Gideon was a weak and incapable man, but God used him to defeat the Midianites, thus showing his power and his grace.

1 Samuel 17:45: "David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with a sword, spear and dart, but I go against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the hosts of Israel, whom you challenged. '"This verse speaks of the importance of trusting God in times of difficulty. David trusted God to defeat Goliath, and Gideon also trusted God to lead the Israelites against the Midianites. Both men believed that God was with them and could do great things through Him.
