Zephaniah, 2

9. Therefore [as] I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, [even] the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

Chapter 2 of Sophonies talks about the imminent destruction that will come about the neighboring nations of Judah, including Moab, Ammon, Cux and Nineveh. " This verse talks about the punishment that will come upon Babylon for its disobedience, which relates to the prophecy of Sophonies about the destruction that will come over the nations.

Isaiah 55:6-7: "Seek the Lord as long as one can find, invoke him while he is near. Leave the wicked his way, and the evil man his thoughts, and convert to the Lord, who shall be sympathized; To our God, because it is great to forgive. " This verse talks about the importance of repentance, which is a call that Saponiah makes to the inhabitants of Judah at the end of chapter 2.
