Psalms, 57

4. My soul [is] among lions: [and] I lie [even among] them that are set on fire, [even] the sons of men, whose teeth [are] spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Psalm 57 is a prayer of David when he fled from Saul and hid in a cave. He calls for God for help and protection, recognizing that only He is able to save Him. David expresses his confidence in God and his faithfulness, and asks him to send his mercy and truth. Following are five verses related to the topics covered in Psalm 57:

Psalm 7:10: "My shield is in God, who saves the straights of heart." David trusts God to protect and save him.

Psalm 18:2: "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my liberator; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the power that saves me, my tower . " David recognizes that only God can protect and save him, and He is his fortress and refuge.

Psalm 31:3: "For you are my rock and my fortress; for the sake of your name, lead me and guide me." David trusts God to guide him and protect him for the sake of his name.
