Psalms, 37

14. The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, [and] to slay such as be of upright conversation.

Psalm 37 is a psalm of wisdom that deals with the question of divine justice in contrast to the prosperity of the wicked. The psalmist urges the faithful to trust God, not to worry about the prosperity of the wicked, and to practice justice and goodness. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Psalm 37:

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust the Lord of all your heart, and do not stir in your own understanding. Recognizes him in all your ways, and he will straighten your paths." This verse is an example of trust in God and recognition of his wisdom.

Jeremiah 17:7-8: "Blessed is the man who trusts the Lord, and whose confidence is the Lord.
