Deuteronomy, 17

19. And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

Deuteronomy chapter 17 deals with justice and punishment for those who disobey the laws established by God. It is emphasized that it is important to have a fair system of judgment, and that people must follow the decisions of the judges. It is also mentioned that if there are cases where the decision is very difficult, they must resort to the priest or judge at the time.

Leviticus 19:15: "You will not commit injustice in the judgment. You will not make the sense of people with the poor, nor will you lean before the great; with justice you will judge your neighbor." Deuteronomy 19:18-19: "The judges shall inquire well; and behold, being false witness, he falsely witnessed against his brother, then you do how he took care of doing his brother; thus shall you take evil from the middle of you.
