2 Kings, 20

5. Go back, and tell Ezechias the captain of my people: Thus saith the Lord the God of David thy father: I have heard thy prayer, and I have seen thy tears: and behold I have healed thee; on the third day thou shalt go up to the temple of the Lord.

Chapter 20 of 2 kings relates the story of Hezekiah, king of Judah, who badly gets sick. God sends the prophet Isaiah to tell Hezekiah that He will die, but Hezekiah pray to God and asks his life to be spared. God meets your prayer and gives you 15 years of life. Hezekiah asks for a sign of God to confirm that He will be healed and God shares the sun back down 10 degrees as a signal for Hezekiah. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in 2 Kings 20.

Psalm 30:2: "Lord my God, I cry to help, and you heal me." This verse shows the attitude of Hezekiah by praying to God for healing in his illness.

Isaiah 38:1: "In those days, Hezekiah became sick and almost died. The prophet Isaiah, son of Amoz, went to him and said, 'Thus saith the Lord, Give your family orders, because you will die; will not recover '. " This verse introduces the theme of Hezekiah's disease and God's intervention through the prophet Isaiah.

Isaiah 38:4: "Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: 'Go and say Hezekiah: Thus saith the Lord, the God of David, his Father: I heard his prayer and I saw his tears; I will add fifteen years to his life '. " This verse shows God's response to the prayer of Hezekiah and his willingness to listen and meet the king's prayer.

Isaiah 38:8: "Behold, I will make the shadow of the sun back ten steps in the steps that has already descended on Acaz's sun clock. Then the sun went back ten steps to the steps where he had already descended." This verse describes the miraculous sign that God has given Hezekiah as a confirmation of his healing.

Isaiah 38:18-19: "For it is not the sheol who praises you, nor the death that exalts you; it is not among those who descend to the grave that is expected in your faithfulness. The living, only the living, praise you like me Today. A father tells his children your faithfulness. " This verse shows the attitude of Hezekiah after his healing, which was praising God for his mercy and faithfulness.
