Chapter 1 of the Gospel of John presents Jesus as the Word of God Incarnate, who came to illuminate all and reveal the grace and truth of God to the world. Moreover, the chapter presents the testimony of John the Baptist about Jesus and the rejection of Jesus for his own. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in John 1:
Isaiah 40:3: "A voice cries out, 'In the desert prepare the way to the Lord; make in the wilder one road to our God.'" This verse is quoted in John 1:23, when John Baptist presents himself as he who It fulfills Isaiah's prophecy, preparing the way for the Messiah.
John 3:19-20: "This is judgment: Light came into the world, but men loved darkness more than light, because their works were evil. Whoever practices evil hates light and does not approach the Light, fearing that your works be exposed. " These verses relate to the theme of light presented in John 1:4-5, which states that "in it was life, and this was the light of men. Light shines in darkness, and darkness did not defeat it."
John 5:39: "You carefully study the Scriptures, because you think that you have eternal life in them. And it is the Scriptures that witness to me." This verse relates to the idea presented in John 1:1-2, that Jesus is the Word of God that existed from the beginning and was with God.

He exists before all things, and in Him all things subsist. " These verses relate to the statement of John 1:3 that all things were done through Jesus and nothing that was done was done without Him.
Hebrews 1:1-2: "In the past God spoke many times and in various ways to our ancestors through the prophets, but in these last days he spoke to us through the Son, to whom he was heir to all things and through Who made the universe. " This verse relates to the idea of John 1:14 that the word became flesh and dwelt among us, revealing the grace and the truth of God to the world.
