St. Matthew chapter 11 presents the continuation of the ministry of Jesus, which begins to face the unbelief of some people and the rejection of others. He also sends his disciples to perform miracles and preach the gospel. Moreover, Jesus addresses directly to the people, calling them to come to Him and find rest for their souls. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in São Matthew 11:
Psalm 86:5: "For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in kindness to all who invoke you." Jesus invites tired and overwhelmed people to come to Him and find rest in his grace and kindness.
Isaiah 55:1: "O you, all who have thirst, come to the waters, and those who do not have money, come, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy, without money and no price, wine and milk." Jesus offers everyone, regardless of his financial or social situation, the opportunity to find life and satisfaction in him.
John 14:6: "Jesus said unto him, I am the way, and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but for me." Jesus states that He is the only way to come to God and find true life and peace.
Matthew 11:28-29: "Come to me, all who are tired and oppressed, and I will relieve you. Take my yoke, and learn from me, that I am meek and humble with heart; and you will find rest for the Your souls. " Jesus invites people to approach him, clinging to Him and learning of him to find rest and peace in his souls.
Luke 9:23: "He said to all," If anyone wants to come after me, to deny himself, day by day take his cross, and follow me. " Jesus calls people to leave everything and follow him, assuming his cross daily and finding life in union with him.
