Jeremiah, 36

7. It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great [is] the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.

Jeremiah 36 narrates the time when the Lord commanded Jeremiah to write all the words He had spoken against Israel and Judah in a roll and read it aloud to the people in the temple. Psalm 119:11: "I keep your words in the heart, not to sin against you." The people of Judah needed to keep God's words in their hearts not to sin against Him.

Proverbs 29:1: "The man who, once rebuked, harden the cervix will be broken suddenly, without healing." King Jehokim was rebuked by the words of the roll, but he hardened his heart and was broken.

1 Peter 1:25: "But the word of the Lord remains forever. And this is the word that was evangelized among you." God's words are eternal and remain forever, and must be proclaimed to all.
