Chapter 35 of Ezekiel deals with the condemnation of Edom, an ancient enemy of the people of Israel. The prophet announces the destruction of Edom and the punishment of his leaders, who rejoiced with the fall of Jerusalem. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Ezekiel 35:
Obadiah 1:10-11: "Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will cover you shame, and you will be exterminated forever. On the day you posted from afar, the day you were captive your army captive , when strangers entered their doors, and throwing sorts over Jerusalem, also you were one of them. " This excerpt from Obadiah's book prophesies Edom's punishment for his violence against the people of Israel, including joy with the fall of Jerusalem.
