Exodus 24 describes the establishment of the covenant between God and Israel on Mount Sinai. Moses, Aaron, and the elders of Israel go up to the hill and see the presence of God. The chapter ends with Moses entering the cloud to receive the stone tablets with the commandments.
Leviticus 17:11: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood. I have given you the blood on the altar, to do atonement for your soul; for it is the blood that will make atonement by virtue of life." This verse highlights the importance of blood sacrifice, which is mentioned in Exodus 24 as part of the covenant ratification ceremony.
Hebrews 9:18-22: "Therefore, not even the first [covenant] was inaugurated without blood.
