Chapter 8 of 1 chronicles lists the genealogies of the Benjamin tribe. This chapter also presents some important characters, such as the first king of Israel, Saul, who was from the tribe of Benjamin, and his son Jonathan. The selected verses are:
1 Samuel 9:1-2: "There was a man of Benjamin, called Quis, son of Abiel, son of zeror, son of Becorate, son of afiae, Benjaminite, man of goods. He had a son named Saul, boy and so Beautiful that among the children of Israel was no more beautiful than him; from the shoulders up, it would stand out to all the people. " This verse mentions the origin of Saul, the first king of Israel, who was from the tribe of Benjamin, whose genealogy is presented in 1 chronicles 8.
1 Chronicles 8:33: "Ner was the father of wanted; he wanted, Saul; Saul, of Jonathan, Malquisua, Abinadab and Esbaal." This verse shows the connection between Benjamin's genealogy presented in 1 chronicles 8 and the story of Saul and Jonathan.

1 Samuel 31:1: "And it happened the next day that the Philistines came to strip the dead, they found Saul and their sons fallen on Mount Gilboa." This verse reports the death of Saul and his children in battle against the Philistines, which took place in the mountainous region of Gilboa, which is in the tribe of Benjamin.
