Chapter 16 of the Gospel of John is marked by a discourse of Jesus to his disciples shortly before his arrest and death. In this verse, Paul talks about the peace of God who keeps the hearts of believers, a theme addressed by Jesus in John 16:16-33, when he says he will leave his disciples his peace.

James 1:2-4: "My brothers, tends for all the joy to pass through various trials, knowing that the trial of your faith produces patience; and patience has your perfect work, so that you may be perfect and complete , without missing anything. " In these verses, James teaches about the joy that can be found in the midst of trials, a theme addressed by Jesus in John 16:16.
